It is March 1st, which only means one thing in the humble but hardworking bayside hamlet of Stevensville, MD - Lacrosse is back on Tap. Optimism is in the air all around the Bayside Conference, but nowhere more so than Kent Island High School. The Buccaneers have won three of the last five state titles in their respective class. "We work hard all year round for the results to show come May" Says senior Luke Bonanni. No one is arguably more devoted to their craft than the Bucs, and the results have indeed shown. "We're like a pack of vicious night hawks" said Senior captain Tucker Claxton. "You might not always be able to see us but we can always see you." Kent Island has secured the last two 2A titles, so a 3peat is definitely the main goal. "We want to make history - we are hungry like the wolf." Said senior Owen Wynot. "Were like a darts champion, we always have our target on the bullseye" Said Junior Richie Guthrie. The Buccaneers will have a tough time replacing goalie Kasey Heath, who is now at Lehigh, but return plenty of field players. "His graduation has left a hole in our hearts, but not our demeanors" said Senior Micah Quinn. No one would argue the Bucs are the team to beat in central Maryland and the Bayside conference - and the results should be a joy to witness.
