There are talents, there are generational talents, and then there is Zymear Smith from Ridgley, MD. To get a sense as to why the hype is so big, all you have to do is spend a few minutes at The Mount (North Caroline Student Section) on a Friday night. The atmosphere is electric, the energy is phenomenal, and the students are turned up to the max. They have come for a team at the end of the day, but primarily they are hyped up to see one man perform - ZYMEAR SMITH. Zymear is such a useful weapon he doesn't miss a snap for the Bulldogs, playing offense, defense, and special teams. The Bulldogs offensive staff has the enviable job of figuring out how to best deploy the ball to No Fear Smith. On defense he is a mobile wrecking ball from the safety position, always in motion, always on the prowl, always needing to be accounted for. "No disrespect to anyone else but I havent seen an athlete as pure and as electric as Zymear since Benny Tate" says Grady Anderson a Bayside football fan. "He can rush, he can receive, he can return punts, he can mow the lawn and repaint the back porch - he has all the tools" Anderson added. As Alabama looks to usher in a winning new era under coach DeBoer, they have their golden goose so to say in Zymear. Coach DeBoer couldn't be reached for comment, but he is assuredly beside himself with happiness, for procuring such a special talent to come play down in Tuscaloosa.
